D.I.C. group features

  • The Deccan Institute of Commerce is having a well equipped computer center at its own premises in Pune. The D.I.C. is an authorised learning center of Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Limited ( the MKCL) and also an authorised training centre by the Tally Company Bangalore.
  • The D.I.C. imparts training for the MSC-IT exams of MKCL. The DIC is successful every year in crossing the target set by the MKCL.
  • The D.I.C. also gives training for the computerised financial accounting course as per the tally software the students can also appear for the same course of MKCL.
  • The D.I.C. is selected for CSMS – DEEP Diploma course prepared by MKCL for the Sarathi project.
  • D.I.C. gives concessions / installments facilities to the needy students.
  • D.I.C. is also having a reading room facility for the students who require a quiet place for self study .Hundreds of students appearing for various exams take benefit of this facility.
  • A certificate course of Direct and Indirect Tax Laws drafted by the D.I.C. is conducted at Kolhapur for the last few years. A number of students study the tax laws and also the principles of accounting in the said course at Kolhapur.
  • The Deccan Institute of Commerce has introduced a feature of filing G. S. T. returns.
  • Soon a course of learning Japanese language will be started.

Founded on 1st June 1918

The late Mr. G.K. Bhopatkar started the Deccan Institute of Commerce on 1st June 1918. The late Mr. S.H. Dhupkar joined as a student in 1929. He started his teaching currier in the institute in 1930 when his Guru ( the late Mr. G. K. Bhopatkar) asked him to join as a teacher. The founder left the Deccan Institute and Late Mr. S. H. Dhupkar carried the mantle on his shoulder single handedly for 10 years. After 1940 the founder joined him. Others like Prof. V.B. Kirtane, who had passed the prestigious C. A. examination from London also joined. The late Mr. V.D. Risbud started his contribution first as a student and then as a teacher. He subsequently worked as the Principal and Secretary. The contribution of these three Guruvaryas is uncomparable.

Our Vision

The future plans of the D.I.C. consist of constructing a well equipped school and college for designing and management.
The school is planned for the students of Nigdi / Moshi area based on CBSC board syllabus. Both the school and the college will have the maximum latest facilities planned as per proper guidance of experts in educational field.
Up to now the D.I.C. has carried on the activities in educational field entirely without government help. In the history of the D.I.C. right from 1918 there is no financial help in the form of grant or otherwise from the government.

Our Mission is to value, respect, secure & develop excellent positive concept in each child. At D.I.C. we ensure that our learners achieve excellence and skills for a technology driven world. We at D.I.C. strive to enrich the aesthetic and spiritual dimensions of the child through real life experiences imbibed through dance, music, drama and other life skills.

History

1918

1/6/1918 – The Deccan Institute of Commerce was founded by the late G.K. alias Nanasaheb Bhopatkar.

1925

25/7/1925 – The Deccan Institute of Commerce was registered as a society.

1927

The Deccan Institute of Commerce was recognized by the Director of Public Instructions Bombay province for GCD and GCC examinations.

1946

The Pune Commercial High school was founded. This was the first of its kind in Maharashtra

1947

30/11/1947 – Celebrated the silver jubilee. The chief guest was the late Shri Vaikunthlal Mehta the then Finance Minister of the Government of Bombay.
Same year purchased the Kasbekar Vada on the Ganesh road in Kasba Ganpati chowk Pune.

1952

Registered as a public trust under the Bombay Public Trust Act 1952.

1969

22/2/1969 – The golden jubilee was celebrated. The chief guest of the function was the late Shri Morarjibhai Desai, then Deputy Prime Minister of India.
6/1969 – The Bombay branch of the Deccan Institute of Commerce was started. It was inaugurated by Dr. Hemachandra Gupte then Mayor of Bombay.

1974

2/8/1974 – The Sampda Sahakari Bank was established in the premises of the Deccan Institute of Commerce.

1979

The Diamond Jubilee of the Deccan Institute of Commerce was celebrated. The chief guest was the late Mr. Shantanurao Kirloskar the eminent industrialist.

1993

The platinum jubilee of the Deccan Institute of Commerce was celebrated . The chief guest of the Jubilee function was Shri H. K. Firodia Chairman of Kinetic Engineering Ltd.

1998

The Ashiti Mahotsav (completion of 80 years ) was celebrated. The chief guest was Shri. Babasaheb Kalyani the MD of Bharat Forge Limited.

2000

The building on the plot of PCNTDA was complete and was inaugurated by honorable Shri Sharadchandra Pawar then leader of opposition in the lok sabha.

2004

20/12/2004 – The school in the newly constructed premises of the Deccan Institute of Commerce was inaugurated by Dr. P. C. Shejwalkar and Mrs. Mangala Kadam the then Mayor of PCMC.

2005

June 2005 – The school started in the new premises of Deccan Institute of Commerce.

2018

1/6/2018 – The centenary of the Deccan Institute of Commerce was celebrated in the presence of the staff and present and past students and also well wishers of the Deccan Institute of Commerce.

2021

Purchased plots from PCNTDA in the
Nigadi pradhikaran.
