Bhopatkar started the Deccan Institute of Commerce on 1st June 1918. The late Mr. S.H. Dhupkar joined as a student in 1929. He started his teaching currier in the institute in 1930 when his Guru ( the late Mr. G. K. Bhopatkar) asked him to join as a teacher. The founder left the Deccan Institute and Late Mr. S. H. Dhupkar carried the mantle on his shoulder single handedly for 10 years. After 1940 the founder joined him. Others like Prof. V.B. Kirtane, who had passed the prestigious C. A. examination from London also joined. The late Mr. V.D. Risbud started his contribution first as a student and then as a teacher. He subsequently worked as the Principal and Secretary. The future plans of the D.I.C. consist of constructing a well equipped school and college for designing and management.
The school is planned for the students of Nigdi \/ Moshi area based on CBSC board syllabus. Both the school and the college will have the maximum latest facilities planned as per proper guidance of experts in educational field.
Up to now the D.I.C. has carried on the activities in educational field entirely without government help. In the history of the D.I.C. right from 1918 there is no financial help in the form of grant or otherwise from the government.<\/p>\n
